Would You Dance?

Perhaps Kenny’s leadership approach of “give them candy” works for 10 year olds;
O.K., us older ones as well. But let’s take another look at how leadership – happens,
as demonstrated in the following clip by Derek Silvers.
This clip illustrates a key principle of Servant Leadership.
As a leader, from the very beginning –
It’s not about you.
Also, a great reminder that leadership takes courage, simplicity, and a willingness to be authentic.
If you were captured dancing in this video, where would you be?
The first follower? The leader? Later in the pack?
The first follower is certainly a hard position to find oneself in. It’s a tough to jump out on a ledge with the leader and hope he isn’t some random nut. More scrutiny from the crowd; still standing alone, in effect.
This is a great example of the difference and the value of one.
Thanks for posting!
Yep!
Hard to to be the first follower. I think I’ve jumped out before when perhaps I should have waited, and held back when I should have jumped out! Ahh.. the power of discernment! 🙂
